Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), also known as Photo Facial or Broad Band Light (BBL), is a cosmetic treatment process using a non-laser, light-based machine to deliver high intensity pulses of light to the skin. The pulse passes through the skin and is absorbed by the melanin and blood. The light energy is converted into heat once it hits its target, causing damage to the target. The damaged lesion is removed by the body as part of the natural healing process.
With our Icon treatment by CynoSure we can target the pigmentation, blood vessels, bacteria, and water in the face and body to provide overall rejuvenation to the skin.

IPL can be an effective treatment for:
- Acne
- Broken capillaries
- Cherry angiomas
- Pigment: hyperpigmentation like sunspots or post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)
- Poikiloderma
- Redness and rosacea
- Sunspots
Treatable areas include face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms, and hands.
Often, multiple treatments are required to reach the desired results and many times maintenance treatments are recommended to target new pigment or veins.
